Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Course
Take your yoga practice to a deeper, more meaningful level and learn to teach others about the wonderful benefits of classical yoga.
The TTC began over 40 years ago, is recognized worldwide and has produced more than 26,000 graduates. Swami Vishnudevananda was the first in the West to develop this kind of training program for yoga teachers with the vision to not only develop successful yoga professionals, but also to spread peace in the world through them. The TTC is a unique, profoundly transforming and personal experience that is based on the ancient gurukula teaching system which integrates the student's daily life into the yoga training. For four intense weeks of ashram living, students strengthen their own yoga practice through self-discipline and awareness of the nature of mind, body and spirit. They also build a firm foundation from which to teach others instinctively and confidently. The TTC provides a fantastic opportunity to awaken or deepen your yoga practice, meet old and new friends, and to be a part of the global yoga community which is growing each day. The best part of all is learning that everything we need is already within us and how the practices can lead us into accessing our gifts and beauty from the inside out. The experience provides a great way to find long lasting happiness, peace and the ability to share the yogic lifestyle with others.

When the "Logical" Decision Is Not So Logical Q & A with Swami Swaroopananda
What if we think we have made a mistaken life decision? Is it actually a mistake?
Answer: Sometimes at an early stage in life we make a mistake. We make what at the time seems to be a logical decision. Sometimes society is pushing us, sometimes the parents, sometimes our considerations are mistaken. For example, we take money into consideration: I want to have a career; I want to have money. How am I going to have money if I become an artist? Artists never have money; musicians never have money. Yogis, they never have money. Yogis are professional beggars! We are making this so-called logical choice, but it's not truly logical. What's logical about being miserable? If, however, at a certain stage of life you find yourself feeling sorry about your decisions, don't be sorry. Everything has its own value, and we are going to get another chance anyway, but that's not the point. As yogis we can make it in this very life without regard to external circumstances. They are not the most important consideration when it comes to being a yogi. The inner life is the most important consideration. Om Shanti, Om Peace Swami Swaroopananda, Director Swami Swaroopananda is the Acharya (spiritual director) of Sivananda Yoga Centers and Ashrams on the West Coast of the United States, in the Middle East, and in the Bahamas, and is one of the foremost disciples of Swami Vishnudevananda. This article is from one of his spontaneous question and answer sessions, which he frequently offers at Sivananda centers and ashrams all over the world.
