The Greater Detroit Area Health Council [GDAHC] assessed the health care space and regional environment during strategic planning earlier this year. The outcome was revealed at our Annual Meeting on Friday, June 12.
As part of the process, the GDAHC Board of Directors and members reaffirmed our role as a regional health collaborative, which has the following characteristics.
- Operates as a non-profit, non-governmental organization.
- Leads programs and initiatives on improving health, transforming health care delivery and achieving the Triple Aim.
- Triple Aim is defined as improving the patient experience of care, improving population health and reducing the cost of health care.
- Conducts its business in a specific geographic region.
- Performs its work through a collaborative effort of all healthcare stakeholders: providers, purchasers, payers and patients.
GDAHC confirmed our vision, drafted a statement of purpose and updated our mission.
VISION
Healthy people. Healthy economy.
PURPOSE
To improve the health and economic wellbeing
of individuals, organizations and communities.
MISSION
GDAHC is a cross-sector, multi-stakeholder, non-profit organization
that leads innovative and transformational programs designed to
improve health, increase access to whole-person care and
ensure that health care is affordable.
GDAHC has a plan for a sustainable future, based on three pillars that drive our work, as indicated below in this chart.
The strategic planning led to the creation of a GDAHC re-branding effort that is reflected in this communication and on our
Facebook page.
A revitalized GDAHC is possible through the collaboration and support of our members, partners and the community. We are thankful that you are part of the conversation toward healthy people, healthy economy.
