Fall into Nitro!

A Note from Swim School

It may be hard to believe but cooler weather is just around the corner. As the temperatures drop, remember to bring a change of clothing for your swimmer so that they aren't stepping into cool air in a wet swimsuit! In the mean time, it's still very hot outside! Even though they are in the water, your swimmers are still working out and need to stay hydrated. Its a good idea to bring a bottle of water to your lessons!

September 2nd marks the beginning of the 2014/2015 swim year for USA Swimming. Nitro wants to wish good luck to all of our team Swimmers! Have a great season!

Sincerely,

Nitro Swimming

Learn More about the benefits of Competitive Swimming

If you're looking for a way to get your kid off of the couch and into a physical activity, competitive swimming promotes fitness and can help children to learn lifelong concepts such as good sportsmanship, according to USA Swimming.

Meet your Nitro Instructors!!

Jenn  - Bee Cave

Coach Jenn has been working at Nitro for almost 6 years, she graduated High School in San Antonio and went on to pursue a Bachelors in English Lit at the University of Texas.  Coach Jenn is full of energy and her enthusiasm for her work shows every day in the water and on deck.  Her favorite swim stroke is the Butterfly.

"Every day is a new experience,  seeing the light "click" in a child's eyes when they get to pass a station!"

Mike - Cedar Park

Mike has been as a Swim Instructor and Deck Instructor for Nitro for 3 years!  He will be the first person to notice a nervous swimmer, go over to talk with them, and get them excited for their swim lesson that day!  Mike was a competitive swimmer in high school, and his primary events were backstroke and breaststroke.  He  recently got married in April, and is currently helping to start a new church community in the city of Round Rock.

"What I enjoy about Nitro is helping kids develop a life skill which could eventually save their own life. I enjoy watching these kids grow into great swimmers and continue into competitive swimming.  These kids are a joy to work with. I love what I do."

Peter - Bee Cave

Coach Peter has been working at Nitro for almost 3 years, he is currently pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas.  Coach Peter's classes are always fun not only for the swimmers, but also for the parents watching.  His favorite strokes are the Butterfly and the Breast Stroke

"I enjoy the water and working with children.  Seeing them improve is one of the most fulfilling things to me."

CJ -Cedar Park

CJ has been with Nitro for since the beginning of 2013.  He has been a great addition to our staff, not only as a Swim Instructor but as a Deck Instructor as well.  CJ is very patient and encouraging to all of his swimmers!   He really focuses on the task at hand, and does it to the best of his abilities.

"Swimming has always been a big passion of mine. I really enjoy being able to share my passion for swimming with the kids and to watch them grow as swimmers. It's really rewarding to see the kids build up their confidence in the water and to see them having fun swimming. Working at Nitro has been a great opportunity for me and I am grateful for having a job that I'm truly passionate about."

Inspiration with Nitro Swim
"By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather
And autumn's best of cheer."
~Helen Hunt Jackson

"Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons. "
~Jim Bishop

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
 ~Albert Camus

"Just after the death of the flowers,
And before they are buried in snow,
There comes a festival season,
When nature is all aglow-
Aglow with a mystical splendour
That rivals the brightness of spring,
Aglow with a beauty more tender
Than aught which fair summer could bring...."
~Emeline B. Smith, "Indian Summer"
