Nitro Swim School Station Highlight of the Month

Kicks/Paddles on back for 10 yards + roll/Recover at the wall. Enter the pool safely from a sitting position on the side of the pool. While holding the wall with both hands, lift and place knees against the wall, next to chest, with toes pointed down, eyes looking up and ears in the water. Then let go of the wall with both hands and slowly stretch out arms and legs while keeping the belly up and face dry with legs stretched out and together behind the swimmer and arms extended down to their sides they will "kick and paddle" (extended legs with pointed toes kicking up and down close to the surface of the water, and arms next to sides paddling up and down to assist with movement) from one side of the pool to the other (short ways) roll over, grab the wall and climb up independently.
Tips for Homework!
Practicing body position in front of a mirror (standing in front of mirror on tippy toes with chin up and shoulders back stretching tall), floating in the bath tub on their back, swimming at the pool hugging a kick board to their chest while on their back focusing on kicks propelling swimmer at the surface of the water with pointed toes.

Goggles 101 Finding goggles that fit well can be tricky, the key part of the fit is the eyepiece. It must fit comfortably without too much suction. Slip the eyepieces over your eyes and press gently. If they stay in place for a minute or two, the eyepiece shape is appropriate for your eye socket. If they slip immediately, try a set of goggles with a smaller eye piece. If they feel too tight, try a set of goggles with a larger eyepiece. Find more tips here!

To ensure the comfort and safety of all swimmers,
please be sure to stay at Nitro while your swimmer is in the water.

Inspiration with Nitro Swim
"May the sun in his course visit no land more free, more happy, more lovely, than this our own country!"
~Daniel Webster
"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism."
~Erma Bombeck
