Greetings Friends,

We are so excited to share our passion for Middle Eastern and Mediterranean music, dance, and drumming! Thanks to the Ford Theatres, we welcome you to our interactive Jam Session, where everyone gathers together on the Ford Amphitheatre stage to play drums, dance, and become part of a rhythm, music and dance ensemble! You are welcome to bring your own drum or percussion instrument, and we will also bring plenty of Middle Eastern frame drums, other kinds of drums and percussion instruments.

Group drumming brings people together from all backgrounds, builds community spirit, reduces stress and boosts our immune system, and is FUN! Grab a drum, join the groove, and enjoy traditional social dancing led by Marguerite and Juliette. Scott Marcus and his UCSB Middle East Ensemble will inspire you to play rhythm and dance with diverse melodies.

Welcome to our Middle East Facilitated Rhythm, Music, Dance
& Drum Circle, where everyone is a co-creator!!

We are grateful to ethnomusicologist Dr Scott Marcus and his ensemble from Santa Barbara, who are Cultural Ambassadors of International Good Will.

"One of the first realizations of any new member in our
group is the astonishing number and diversity of cultures

and musics found in the Middle East."
