Chemical Analysis of Polymer Microbeads in Toothpaste by TD- and Py-GCxGC-TOFMS
Plastic microbeads were used in many personal care products until 2013 when mounting pressure from many international environmental groups led to legislation banning their use. In our latest application note, our PegasusŪ 4D GCxGC-TOFMS system was used in the direct analysis of a brand-name toothpaste containing the polyethylene microbeads to determine the additives or inactive ingredients.
