4th European GCxGC Symposium gcxgc

We recently unveiled the new LECO European Application and Technology Center in Berlin
on October 20th (for more information about the LEATC, click here). In conjunction with this opening ceremony, LECO Europe held their 4th European GCxGC Symposium.

For two days, research scientists from around the world came together for the comprehensive chromatography and mass spectroscopy forum. The symposium featured a variety of presentations and hands-on workshops discussing GCxGC methods and various applications. Those in attendance were also introduced to LECO's PegasusŪ GC-HRT 4D system, as well as given a full tour of the European Application and Technology Center and how it will act as a resource for our European customers.

GCxGC-TOFMS and Groundwater Contamination water

New techniques in high-volume hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas have led to concerns that that the compounds used in fracturing could make their way into the water supply. In
this study, Evaluating a Groundwater Supply Contamination Incident Attributed to Marcellus Shale Gas Development, GCxGC-TOFMS was used to evaluate a complex mixture of organic compounds from an aquifer that was believed to be contaminated, attempting to match the flowback from a nearby gas well. Read the rest of this intriguing study here, to see how researchers found a connection between the two.

Our posters can also be viewed online via our ePosters profile, visit here.
Application Spotlight appnote

Our innovative Separation Science instrumentation provides users with solutions for a wide range of applications. We regularly show examples of how our products are winning the fight against coelution through application notes.

Non-Targeted and Targeted Aroma Analysis of Name-Brand and Imitation Perfume Samples by GCxGC-HRT
In this newly released application note, our PegasusŪ GC-HRT 4D system was used to determine the targeted and non-targeted components within a perfume sample. This information is critical for maintaining quality control and driving product development, as well as determining what else is in a perfume sample without limiting the analysis to what is already known. A name-brand perfume sample was compared to two imitation perfume samples, read the application note here to learn about the differences and similarities found between them.
