LECO's New 832 Series

We recently released our newest instrumentation for sulfur/carbon determination, which will bring productivity and quality to your elemental analysis needs. The 832 Series will redefine your analytical testing of coal, coke, biofuels, soils, feeds, and other organic matrices, while emphasizing ease-of-use and reliability. It hosts a variety of new and improved features, including a high-efficiency combustion furnace, improved IR cell design, and an on-board, touch-screen software platform.

Cornerstone® Mobile App

Our Cornerstone brand software offers an optional mobile remote viewing feature, where you can view data, plots, and instrument status from your smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer. It can also be programmed to set automatic notifications from the instrument against predefined software conditions using e-mail, text message, or the Mobile app.

This software option is available on our new 832 Series, as well as our other instruments utilizing the Cornerstone brand software. Learn more about this mobile option for your LECO instrumentation here.

Application Notes

Sulfur in Ore Concentrate

Determining the amount of sulfur in ore concentrate can be used as a measure of quality control and provides an estimate of the metal-in-concentrate. In this application note our CS/S744, with its wide detection range and easy-to-use touchscreen software, was used to determine the sulfur level in ore concentrates. You can learn about the process for this analysis by reading the application note here.

Nitrogen/Protein in Grains, Feeds, and Pet Food

Protein is determined in food as part of its nutritional or dietary value and is also used to assign the economic value of the material. The protein value is commonly calculated using the measured nitrogen in the sample and a multiplier. The following application note outlines the methods and procedure in determining nitrogen and protein using our FP628. Click here to read the application note.

E-Commerce Changes are Coming!

If you are a current LECODirect user, you may be excited to learn that some major changes are coming to our existing e-commerce system. While the new system will still be called LECODirect, it will be contained within our leco.com website, meaning you will only need one username and password to access both leco.com and LECODirect. Other changes will include a new, updated design; your own customizable profile page with easy access to reference cards; and the ability to easily re-order past items. Eventually, you will also see additional parts added to our online inventory as well.

Look for the updated site to be available end of summer/beginning of fall! In the meantime, give us your feedback and let us know what other kinds of changes you'd like to see from the new system!
