836 Series Updates

Argon Carrier Gas Support

With the recurring helium gas shortages, and the ever-increasing cost of helium, LECO has been working diligently to provide argon carrier gas support for the 836 Series of nitrogen elemental analyzers. The 836 Series now comes standard with the new HeArTC detector that minimizes the nitrogen performance loss when switching to argon from helium carrier gas. The HeArTC detector is also available as an upgrade to existing 836 Series systems (SN 3423 and below).

Sound Reduction

Concerned about noise exposure? Variable-speed cabinet fans have been incorporated into the design of the 836 Series systems for a substantial noise reduction benefit with the new HeArTC cell. They operate at 65% of their current speed in a gas-on state, and at 50% in gas-conserve or gas-off states. Sound pressure levels are reduced from 64 dBA to 61 dBA when operating, and 64 dBA to 57 dBA when not operating. For reference, the common standard exposure limit for an 8-hour work day without protective equipment is 85 dBA. Cabinet fan kits are available as an upgrade to existing 836 Series systems (SN 3419 and below).
