Webcast Recording Available: Prospects and Pitfalls in Metabolomics: From Study Designs to Interpreting Data in Biomedical Applications
If you missed this recent LCGC web seminar, there's still time to catch the recording.
Professor Oliver Fiehn of UC Davis explains the importance of different steps in the metabolomic workflow and how to avoid the most dramatic pitfalls along the way. Examples are provided from published work using blood plasma in human cohort studies and animal models.

Article: Comparison of Edible Oils by GCxGC-TOF-MS and GC-High Resolution TOF-MS for Determination of Food Fraud: A 'Foodomics' Approach
How do you know you're getting real olive oil? In the latest issue of Current Trends in Mass Spectrometry, LECO applications chemist Elizabeth Humston-Fulmer demonstrated how two-dimensional GC paired with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GCxGC-TOFMS) and one-dimensional GC coupled to high resolution TOFMS can be a valuable tool in identifying olive oil adulteration.
