McDonald's, CoolSpeak, and USHLI Partnership Concludes in Lorain, OH

The McDonald's series of Student Leadership Summits, which included nine (9) cities in eight states and Washington, DC, came to a successful conclusion in Lorain, OH.  The McDonald's series was organized by USHLI in partnership with CoolSpeak.

The 10th and final event, attended by over 1,900 students, teachers and counselors, was held at Lorain High School. The program consisted of a nationally prominent motivational speaker, a breakout presentation on scholarships and "how to" finance your post-secondary education, and a Career and College Recruitment Fair.  The Career and College Recruitment Fair featured a Study Lounge sponsored by McDonald's and included 23 recruiters representing post-secondary institutions throughout the state.

Our nationally prominent motivational speaker from CoolSpeak was Carlos Ojeda.  Ernesto Mejia conducted the workshop on scholarships.

At the McDonald's Study Lounge students learned more about regional and national RMHC HACER Scholarships, received information about post-secondary education and took free snapshots. Local McDonald's owners/operators also provided a complimentary snack consisting of apple slices and water as well as B.O.G coupons during the Career and College Recruitment Fair.  USHLI is very grateful to school Principal Diane Conibear and her entire team for their support and invaluable assistance in planning and hosting the event.  Mr. Joe Woods, McDonald's USA Regional Marketing Manager, spoke on behalf of local owner/operators.  Ms. Patricia Diaz, McDonald's USA Marketing Director also attended the event.

Schools participating in this series of Student Leadership Summits saw their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce. Over 18,102 students, parents, and teachers attended the series of Student Leadership Summits.
