McDonald's, CoolSpeak, and USHLI Partnership Continues in Reading, PA
|
The McDonald's series of Student Leadership Summits, in partnership with USHLI, and CoolSpeak, continued in Reading. The event, held at Reading High School, was attended by over 1,500 students, teachers and counselors, featured a nationally prominent motivational speaker, a breakout presentation on scholarships and "how to" finance your post-secondary education, and a Career and College Recruitment Fair. The Career and College Recruitment Fair featured a Study Lounge sponsored by McDonald's and included 15 recruiters representing post-secondary institutions throughout the state.
Our nationally prominent motivational speaker from CoolSpeak was Carlos Ojeda, Jr. Ernesto Mejia conducted the sessions on scholarships. Edit Dolcè, Operations Consultant McDonald's Philadelphia Region, addressed the students on behalf of McDonald's.

At the McDonald's Study Lounge students learned more about regional and national RMHC HACER Scholarships, received information about post-secondary education, and took free snapshots. USHLI is very grateful to school Principal Eric Turman and his entire team for their support and invaluable assistance in planning and hosting the event.
SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce. Over 15,000 students, parents, and teachers are expected to be served through this new series of Student Leadership Summits.
