McDonald's, CoolSpeak and USHLI Partnership Continues in
Reno, NV

The McDonald's series of Student Leadership Summits, in partnership with USHLI and Coolspeak, continued into Reno, NV.  The event, held at Spanish Springs High School, was attended by over 1,800 students, teachers and counselors, featured a nationally prominent motivational speaker, a breakout presentation on scholarships and "how to" finance your post-secondary education, and a Career and College Recruitment Fair.  The Career and College Recruitment Fair featured a Study Lounge sponsored by McDonald's.

Our nationally prominent motivational speaker and presenter from CoolSpeak included Ernesto Mejia and Juan Cangas.  Local McDonald's Owner/Operator Rich Pelton addressed students on behalf of McDonald's.

Students learned about regional and national RMHC HACER Scholarships, received information about post-secondary education, and took free snapshots at the Study Lounge sponsored by McDonald's.  A local McDonald's owner/operator also provided complimentary apple slices and water.  USHLI is very grateful to Assistant Principal Jay Salter and the entire team at Spanish Springs High School for their leadership, support, and invaluable assistance, and to everyone else who contributed to the success of this event.

SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce. An estimated 15,000 students, parents, and teachers are expected to be served through this new series of Student Leadership Summits.
