USHLI Partners with
Compact for Success at
San Diego State University

USHLI's Student Leadership Series (SLS) continued its fall campaign with a successful partnership event with Compact for Success at San Diego State University. Compact for Success, now in its 14th year and led by Dr. Lou Murillo, is one of the more innovative programs for 7th grade students and their parents. Students who complete the program and graduate from high school are guaranteed admission to San Diego State University. The event was attended by over 4,000 students and parents.
USHLI is very grateful to Dr. Murillo for the opportunity to partner with Compact for Success and participate in this outstanding program which has already enabled over 3,000 young Latinos to complete high school and enroll at San Diego State University.
The featured nationally prominent speaker was Jimmy Cabrera, CSP who addressed two groups of students and parents totaling 500.
SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce. Over 90,428 students, parents, and teachers in 22 states and Washington, DC have been served this year.
