AARP and USHLI recently entered into a new partnership to launch a Families4Education series of events in Chicago. The events were held at Edwin G. Foreman High School and Curie Metropolitan High School in Chicago. The events, attended by over 3,000 students, parents, and teachers, featured two nationally prominent motivational speakers and workshops for parents on AARP's recently launched Families4Education program.
USHLI is very grateful to Tricia Rosado, Coordinator for Chicago Gear Up and Gabriela Vasquez, Post-secondary Coach at Curie Metropolitan High School for their leadership and support on behalf of the respective schools.
Our nationally prominent motivational speakers included Carlos Ojeda, Jr. and April Hernandez-Castillo, best known for her leading role in the movie "Freedom Writers".

The workshops on Families4Education were presented by Corina Alvarez, Multicultural Markets & Engagement Manager at AARP, and Betty Paugh Ortiz, President of BPO Consulting.
