Over 2,000 Students, Teachers, and College Recruiters Attend Student Leadership Series Events in Idaho

USHLI's Student Leadership Series (SLS) continued its record-setting campaign pace with a very successful series of events in Idaho.  Student assemblies, workshops, and Career and College Recruitment Fairs were held in high schools in three regions including Pocatello, Jerome, Boise, Meridian, and Caldwell.  A total of 2,028 students were impacted through these events.

USHLI is very grateful to Margie Gonzalez, Executive Director of the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs for her leadership, support, outreach and advocacy on our behalf, which led to the strong response from educators around the state.  USHLI is also very grateful to Guillermo Raya, Laura Carlisle, and Diane Olivo for their invaluable assistance on behalf of their respective schools.

Our nationally prominent motivational speaker featured in the 4-day tour was Joey Negron, Assistant Vice President and Chief Behavioral Officer for CoolSpeak, LLC.

SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce and achieve success in life.  Over 85,988 students, parents, and teachers in 22 states and Washington, DC have been served this year.

Persons interested in hosting an SLS event in 2013 should contact Dr. Juan Andrade at  docandrade@ushli.org.
