Over 8,000 Students and Teachers Attend Student Leadership Series Events in New Jersey

USHLI's Student Leadership Series (SLS) continued its record-setting campaign pace with a very successful series of events in New Jersey. Student assemblies were held at public and charter high schools and middle schools in cities including Passaic, Newark, Jersey City, and Camden. A total of 8,020 students were impacted through these events. USHLI is very grateful to Roberto Frugone, publisher of La Causa Newsletter of New Jersey for his support, outreach and advocacy on our behalf, which led to the strong response from educators around the state. USHLI is also very grateful to the principals and their key staff for their help at their respective schools, and to Mr. Franklin Walker, Associate Superintendent for the New Jersey Board of Education for his leadership.
Our nationally prominent motivational speakers featured in the 5-day tour included Joey Negron and April Lee Hernandez Castillo, best known for her leading role in the movie "Freedom Writers".
SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce and achieve success in life. Over 80,350 students, parents, and teachers in 21 states have been served this year.
