Attend Student Leadership Series Events in Las Vegas
|
USHLI's Student Leadership Series (SLS) continued its trailblazing fall campaign with a successful series of events in Las Vegas, in partnership with the Clark County School District. Student assemblies were held at two high schools including Moapa and Las Vegas, as well as in Duane D. Keller Middle School. Additional events were held at Moapa River Indian Reservation and at an Adult Education Center and Leaders in Training program. A total of 2,385 students were impacted through these events. USHLI is very grateful to Rebecca Kaatz, Academic Manager in Performance Zone 7 for her strong support and leadership in organizing these events.
Our nationally prominent motivational speaker featured in the 2-day tour was Jimmy Cabrera, whose "What's in Your Backpack" message resonated very well with all age groups.
SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce and achieve success in life. Over 72,330 students, parents, and teachers in 20 states have been served this year Persons interested in hosting an SLS event in 2013 should contact Dr. Juan Andrade at [email protected].
