Over 6,000 Students and Teachers Attend Student Leadership Events in San Diego

USHLI's Student Leadership Series (SLS) launched its fall campaign with a successful series of events in San Diego, in partnership with the Sweetwater Union High School District. Student assemblies were held at three high schools including Sweetwater, San Ysidro, and Mar Vista, at Granger Junior High School, as well as in three middle schools including Castle Park, National City, and Southwest. In addition, a Career and College Recruitment Fair was held at Southwest High School. A total of 6,667 students were impacted through these events. USHLI is very grateful to Dr. Ed Brand, Superintendent of Schools, for his leadership and support, and to Bill Virchis and all of the school principals who helped organize these events.
Our nationally prominent motivational speakers featured in the 2-day tour included: Jimmy Cabrera, CSP and Carlos Ojeda, Jr.
SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated, more involved in class and extracurricular activities, more determined to succeed academically and in life, and better prepared to enter the workforce. Over 49,731 students, parents, and teachers in 19 states have been served this year.
