1,180 Students Attend
SLS Events in Idaho
|
The USHLI Student Leadership Series traveled to Idaho on April 23rd. Our partnership with Margie Gonzalez, executive director of the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs provided USHLI the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of 1180 students from Mountain Home High School and Glenns Ferry High School .
The featured speaker in both assemblies was Joey Negron from Philadelphia, PA. He spoke to the students about the importance of making good life decisions. Many students related to the genuine story he shared infused with emotion and humor.
SLS participating schools will see their students become better motivated and more determined to succeed academically and in life. Their dropout rate will decrease and the graduation rate will increase as more and more students are inspired to navigate their way through the academic achievement pipeline toward career and success. Over 28,351 students, parents, and professionals in 9 states have been reached to date.
Persons interested in hosting an SLS event in 2013 should contact Dr. Juan Andrade at docandrade@ushli.org or Martha Villegas Miranda at mvillegas@ushli.org.
