USHLI Accepting Applications for
MillerCoors Scholars-21st Century Leaders Internship Program
|
USHLI is currently accepting applications for its MillerCoors Scholars-21st Century Leaders Internship program. During the 10-week paid internship students will engage local, county, state, and federal officials in discussions of public policy including but not limited to education, employment, and immigration. The performance-based compensation internship program promotes civic engagement while enabling students to earn up to $2,500.
To be eligible students must be enrolled in college or accepted for fall enrollment. For more information, students interested in applying for the internship are encouraged to contact Dulce Diaz at ddiaz@ushli.org. Click here to download an application.
During the last six years, our MillerCoors Scholars-21st Century Leaders have registered over 127,000 new voters, mostly in the Chicago/Cook County area and mostly newly naturalized citizens. Upon completion of the internship students attend USHLI's Annual Dinner in August as our Guests of Honor and the student with the largest number of new registrations is recognized as The Outstanding Intern of the Year.
USHLI continues to be strongly committed to making every possible opportunity available to Latino youth. To date, USHLI has awarded over $1.2 million in internships and scholarships, enabling hundreds of Latino students to continue and complete their education.
