Receive $1,000 Scholarships!

USHLI has awarded over $1.2 million in scholarships and internships to Latino college students.  With affordability being one of the main reasons more Latinos are unable to complete their post-secondary education or training, USHLI is trying to do its part to help students stay in school and graduate by awarding scholarships.

Forty students will receive USHLI scholarships or internships in 2013, which are awarded on a highly competitive basis.  Not only must applicants demonstrate strong leadership potential, the need for financial support must be equally strong.  Also, additional consideration is given to students who are the first in their family to graduate high school or the first to pursue post-secondary education or training.

Our following two recipients of the Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders in 2013 are Zulema Uscanga and Stephanie Pacheco. Zulema is a senior attending Kent State University, majoring in Public Health and minoring in Latin American Studies. Stephanie is a junior at DePaul University, and majors in Biological Science and minors in Chemistry.
