Over 50 College Students from Oregon attend 31st USHLI National Conference in Chicago

Over 50 college students from Oregon attended our 31st National USHLI Conference, the largest number of students from a single state outside of Illinois.  Students represented the following colleges, universities and high schools: Oregon State University, Portland Community College, Portland State University, Linfield College, Willamette University, Gresham High School, Crescent Valley High School, and West Salem High School.  Benton County District Attorney John Haroldson and Oregon State University Associate Director - Center for Latino Studies and Engagement Maria Haroldson, worked with student leaders to organize their participation and raise funds to help defray their costs.

USHLI is very grateful to John and Maria Haroldson for their leadership, their commitment to the education of Latino youth, their dedication to the advancement of our community, and their unrelenting support of USHLI's work in Oregon.

We strongly encourage student and community leaders to begin planning, organizing, and collaborating now to attend next year's conference.  Our 32nd National Conference will be held February 13-16, 2014, in Chicago.  For more information call 1-800-959-5151.
