Over 8,700 Students Attend Student Leadership Series in Ft. Worth

The 2013 Student Leadership Series is well underway, following a tremendous run in Ft. Worth.  Over 8,700 students representing 12 high schools turned out to hear the powerful messages delivered by Carlos Ojeda.  Joaquin Zihuatanejo also addressed students. Their messages were very clear - stay in school, improve your academic performance, believe in yourself, graduate, and pursue some kind of post-secondary education or training.

Participating schools will see their students become better motivated and more determined.  Their dropout rate will decrease and the graduation rate will increase.  Over 12,200 students have been reached to date in 2013.

The Student Leadership Series is USHLI's flagship youth program, and one of six youth programs offered by USHLI.  The goal is to reach mostly economically disadvantaged students and to have a graduate in every household - the first to graduate high school, or the first to pursue post-secondary education or training, or the first to obtain a post-secondary degree or certificate.

Together with our super-talented, innovative, energetic, interactive, uplifting and inspiring speakers, USHLI is able to offer SLS events that will empower students at all levels, parents, as well as educators.

Persons Interested in hosting an SLS event in 2013 should contact Dr. Juan Andrade at docandrade@ushli.org or Martha Villegas Miranda at mvillegas@ushli.org.
