Kansas State University and USHLI Partner in Manhattan, KS
Over 475 high school and college students attended the 6th Annual Midwest HALO Encuentro in Manhattan, KS on October 9.  Kansas State University partnered with USHLI to integrate our Student Leadership Series into the conference program. The SLS event focused on motivating and helping students to improve their academic performance, graduate, and prepare to transition successfully into some kind of post-secondary education or training.

Our featured speakers were Ernesto Mejia from Chicago, a powerful and effective speaker and Andres Lara, "The Cuban Guy" a highly-touted, interactive presenter from Miami.
USHLI would like to thank Dr. Myra Gordon, Associate Provost for Diversity, Mirta Chavez, Director, Multicultural Programs and Services, Dr. Maria Teresa Depaoli, Assistant Professor of Spanish/ HALO Advisor and KSU's HALO students for organizing and hosting these events.
