  • Interfaith Thanksgiving Service- The DuPage Interfaith Thanksgiving Service will be held on Monday, November 25 at 7:30 PM in the beautiful sanctuary of St. Procopius Abbey at the corner of Maple and College in Lisle. Read more here

School & Youth Activities
  • Shabbat Chaverim- Our next Shabbat Chaverim will be on Friday morning, November 15 at 10:00 AM. This program is for young children and a parent/guardian. Each session we do a craft, have play time, music with Cindy Michelassi and, of course a snack. We recite the Shabbat blessings and then have challah and juice.
  • JYG Retreat- Our annual Junior Youth Group Retreat will be held at Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute (OSRUI) in Oconomowoc, WI the weekend of November 22-24. Read more here.
  • Hanukkah Craft Party- Join us on Sunday, November 24 for Etz Chaim's annual Hanukkah Craft Party, 1200 PM - 2:00 PM. There will be crafts, games, prizes, face painting, Hanukkah goodies and more. This event is for children in preschool through second grade. There is no cost for this event!
  • SKIP- Enroll Your Child in SKIP Now- The SEND-A-KID-TO-ISRAEL PARTNERSHIP (SKIP) program is a special savings plan that helps Chicago-area youngsters 3rd -9th grade visit Israel as an integral part of their Jewish education. Please contact Rachel Wood if you have not received your packet. Read more here. Enrollment packets need to be received no later than November 15, 2013.
  • Jewish American Heroes- Each week this year we have a famous guest visiting our school. The guest is always a figure from our American Jewish past. Read more here.

  • Caring Committee- Do you know about the caring committee? Occasionally we hear someone mention that they wish Congregation Etz Chaim had an organization to help other congregants in need. Read more here.
