Transition Planning Committee Input Requested

 

The Executive Committee of Etz Chaim has created a Transition Planning Committee. The charter of this committee is to deliver an organizational structure and create a succession path that will guide us in the coming years. This committee will not be selecting the next senior rabbi.  If any congregant has input to the committee, please send via email to Al Herbach, Chair of the Committee by October 31, 2013.

Rabbi Cosnowsky On December 9, 2011, death took from us a very special lady, Barbara Baruch. On Saturday, October 19 "A Musical Night from the Movies" concert, in memory of Barbara Baruch, will be held at Congregation Etz Chaim. Read more here.

School & Youth Activities
  • Prospective Camper Visiting Day- If your child wants to join OSRUI next summer for the first time, spend the day at camp and see all that it has to offer, come to OSRUI THIS Sunday, October 13. Read more here.
  • Shabbat Chaverim- Our Shabbat Chaverim will start again on Friday morning, October 18 at 10:00 AM. This program is for young children and a parent/guardian. Each session we do a craft, have play time, music with Cindy Michelassi and, of course a snack. We recite the Shabbat blessings and then have challah and juice.
  • Jewish American Heroes- Each week this year we have a famous guest visiting our school. The guest is always a figure from our American Jewish past. Read more here.
  • SKIP- Enroll Your Child in SKIP Now- The SEND-A-KID-TO-ISRAEL PARTNERSHIP (SKIP) program is a special savings plan that helps Chicago-area youngsters 3rd -9th grade visit Israel as an integral part of their Jewish education.   • Wanted College Student Addresses- In order to keep our college students connected to the Etz Chaim community, we need both regular mailing addresses and email addresses of freshmen as well as returning college students. Addresses are not saved from school year to school year, so we need addresses even if you sent them in past years. Please send address information to the synagogue office by email.
