  • Shavuot Service- Please join us for Shavout service Tuesday, May 14th at 7:00 PM. On Shavuot we recall the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai and the bringing of the offering of first fruits to the Temple in Jerusalem. Read more here.

School & Youth Activities
  • Reminder- Religious School will end early this Sunday, April 28th so everyone is able to attend Israel Solidarity Day. Westlake will end at 10:30 AM and Etz Chaim at 10:40 AM.
  • Holocaust Museum Tickets Available- The Religious School has 17 tickets for the Holocaust Museum for half price.  We bought several on Groupon for a class trip and we ordered more than we needed.  If you would like to buy some of these, please contact Anne.  The tickets are $6.00 and will expire May 18th.
  • Shabbat Chaverim- Our next Shabbat Chaverim is Friday morning, May 10th at 10:00 AM. This program is for young children and a parent/guardian. Each session we do a craft, have play time, music with Cindy Michelassi and, of course a snack. We recite the Shabbat blessings and then have challah and juice.


Congregational Life
  • Israel Solidarity Day is our community's annual celebration of Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence Day). This year on Sunday, April 28th we celebrate Israel's 65th birthday by coming together for one big event filled with music, family fun and Israeli spirit. Read more here
  • April 28th Garden clean Up with the Religious School- Before you leave for Israel Solidarity Day at Ravinia,  join us at the synagogue from 9:15 AM-10:40 AM (the close of school) to help with garden clean up. The 10th grade class will be helping and we need lots of adults also.  We have tools and gloves but need more wheelbarrows for the morning. To volunteer or for more info contact co-chairs: Joy Lynn or Mary Hason.

  • Workforce Presentation- open to the public on Sunday, May 12 from 10 to 11:30 AM in the lower level. Tom Wendorf, leader of the DuPage United Workforce team, will talk about  about the gaps between the education we promote for our young students and the needs in the workforce.  We are talking about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) 

    education and careers. DuPage United wants to disseminate the
    statistics and messages about viable career options for students
    and adults alike, career and educational options that very few even know about.This is open to the public so please invite anyone who might be interested. Who should come?

  • Young adults who are not college bound or never finished college

  •  College graduates out of work

  •  Parents of middle school and high school youth

  •  Those unemployed or underemployed

  •  Those interested in economic development

  •  Those interested in working on this issue with DuPage United
