Martin Luther King Jr Day - No School
Monday, January 19

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., there will be no school on Monday, January 19th. 

Daycare at Diane Adair will also be closed.
Kindergarten Packet Pick-up
Starting Tuesday, January 20 
Beginning Tuesday, January 20, parents may pick up registration packets for Transitional Kindergarten (for children turning 5 between September 2 - December 2, 2015) or Kindergarten (for children turning 5 before September 1). 

Please complete these packets and return them to school on Registration Day on Tuesday, February 3rd.

An informational evening is planned for parents of incoming Kindergarten students at Bancroft on Tuesday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the B Pod Center to learn more about our traditional Kindergarten program as well as the Two Way Dual Immersions (TWDI) Spanish-English program for Kindergarten.
Life Skills Assembly
Friday, January 23, 1:55 MUR

The 1st-5th grade assembly honoring students selected by their teachers for the life skills of Integrity and Common Sense will be Friday, November 7th at 1:55 pm in the Multi-Use Room. Parents of the students receiving recognition are provided with an invitation to attend the ceremony.

Teacher In Service Day - No School
Monday, January 26
There will be no school on Monday, January 26th as the Bancroft teachers will be having a professional development day focused on "Academic Conversations".

Daycare at Diane Adair will be open.

Kindergarten Information Night
Tuesday, January 27
An informational evening is planned for parents of incoming Kindergarten students at Bancroft on Tuesday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the B Pod Center to learn more about our traditional Kindergarten program as well as the Two Way Dual Immersions (TWDI) Spanish-English program for Kindergarten. Parents will have a choice of either program and both programs are open to the transfer process. Transfer acceptance is based solely on space within the program. After the presentation parents may visit the four Kindergarten classrooms.

Transitional Kindergarten Parent Info Meetings
Tuesday, January 27 & Wednesday, January 28
The first two of four parent informational meetings for Transitional Kindergarten are this week on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Two more meetings will be held the following week.

 

The meetings are: 
1/27/15: Pleasant Hill Elementary, 6:30-7:30 pm
1/28/15: Fair Oaks Elementary, 6:30-7:30 pm
2/2/15: Ayers Elementary, 6:30-7:30 pm
2/4/15: Delta View Elementary, 6:30-7:30 pm

 

Presentations will be held in the Library and Childcare will be provided in the room indicated at each site. After the presentation, parents will tour the TK Classroom.

 

Childcare and Spanish Translation will be provided. Julianna Sikes, School Support Administrator, will be hosting the informational evenings along with the TK Teacher and Principal at each site. If you have additional questions, please call Laura at 925.682.8000 x4024 or visit our website.


Children born between 9/2/2010-12/2/2010 qualify for the program.

Noon Time Campus Safety and Student Supervision

Do you love to serve and be with our children? Are you looking to make some extra money? You might be just what Bancroft School needs to fill an open, paid position for Noon Time Campus Safety and Supervision. The hours are 11:15-11:50 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and from 9:15-10:00 on Wednesdays (the Wednesday time slot would be especially helpful!). If you are interested in all or some of these hours or getting training to be a sub for our full-time supervisors, please contact the school office at 925-933-3405.
