Walnut Creek Community Service Day
Saturday, Sept 27 from 9-1
|
|
Every year Walnut Creek offers volunteer projects for its residents. And every year schools are among the organizations that benefit.
This year Bancroft has two projects to choose from:
*Paw Print painting - renew current ones and paint new ones for classrooms and playground
*Plaza Enhancements - raking and cleanup, sand and paint benches
Parents, students, and the general community can sign up for these projects (among more than 50 different projects planned across Walnut Creek). Community Service Day begins at 7:30 am with a free pancake breakfast at Heather Farm Park, hosted by the Walnut Creek Lions Clubs. Project work begins at Bancroft at 9am and will end around 1pm.
See the City of Walnut Creek website for more information. You can click for on-line registration and find Bancroft's projects by selecting "jump to schools."

Bancroft is SPACE TACULAR Walk-A-Thon
Friday, Oct 10
|
|
Attention Space Rangers! Lace up your running shoes and get ready for the 5th annual Bancroft Walk-A-Thon! This fundraising event will take place on October 10th and will include lots of fun music, snacks, event giveaways and prizes for all students. Parents, family members and friends are encouraged to participate as well, so mark your calendars and plan to come walk or run with your Bancroft student!
The Bancroft Walk-A-Thon raises money for the current school year to help fund technology improvements, teacher materials, library books, playground supplies, garden program supplies, and our Science Lab. Students get family and friends to sponsor them based on number of laps completed during the event or with a flat donation. Students and classes have the opportunity to earn a number of prizes and awards based on their participation and donation collection. Our goal for the year is to raise $20,000. We reached our goal last year with the great support of our Bancroft community - let's do it again this year!
Walk-A-Thon pledge envelopes and additional information will be coming home soon with your student in their Friday or Monday folder.
GO BOBCATS!
