POLICY CHANGE
We are women with a passion for golf who come together for fitness, fun, friendship, and professional networking. We offer programs and events where you can meet and connect with engaging women of all ages, with all levels of golf experience, from a broad spectrum of career paths.
In keeping with the spirit of the mission of the EWGA, the Boston Chapter would like to initiate the following weekend events pairing instructions.
Tournament Instructions
Pairing requests: When registering for this event, please indicate your ONE playing partner in the "Notes to Tournament Director" section of the registration. Please make sure that your playing partner will be registering for this event so that we can accommodate all requests. Please take this opportunity to get to know others in the chapter, especially our new members. This will also make setting up the pairings and tee times less complex for the event coordinator.

MATCH PLAY
Starts on May 1
Enjoy squaring off in a friendly head-to-head competition with fellow Chapter members?
Want to strengthen your mental toughness and lower your handicap?
What is Match Play?
In match play, each hole is a separate competition. Simple - win a hole, that's one for you; lose a hole, that's one for your opponent, ties called halves score a half-point for each player. In this format (unlike traditional match play in which the contest is complete when one side cannot "catch up"), you will continue to play all eighteen holes, since every point counts.

NEW GOLFER'S FAQ - PART 1 OF 2
|
You are a "new" golfer -- looking for a guide to playing the game? Or have you been playing golf forever but still feel like a "new" golfer at times? The Den Caddie has some tips to help!
Question: Golf seems so serious, do I have to be serious?
Answer: It is okay to play golf for FUN!
Here are some tips for new golfers from the PGA and Get Ready Golf:
1. It's okay to not keep score.
2. It's okay to play from the shortest tees or start at the 150-yard marker.
3. It's okay to give yourself a better lie by rolling the ball around a little. It's okay to tee the ball up anywhere when you are first learning.
4. It's okay to only count swings when you make contact with the ball.
...
18. It's okay to PLAY GOLF JUST FOR FUN!
