Hello Ladies,

It looks like the weather is beginning to cooperate, we played some great golf in July. Even with all the weather ups and downs this past Sunday we enjoyed the Blackstone course. We are updating our picture section, if you took pictures at any of the events and would like to share them, please forward them to chaptercommunications@ewgaboston.org.

There are several items on the web site that need your attention. Don't forget to visit our 19th Hole, we really want to hear what you think about the courses we are playing. I know that we are playing great golf, I have played with several people who have had Birdies and Eagles. Remember to sign up for a chance to be crowned the Birdie or Eagle winner for 2014.

We are continuing our support of the First Tee of Massachusetts with our First Tee Challenge. Remember to sign up for your chance to win the cost of a classic membership for 2015. Proceeds may be tax-deductible, please consult your tax advisor.

CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP

Our Chapter Championship was a great day with lots of friendly competition. The results have been posted here: www.ewgaboston.org/events/chapterchampionship

A special thank you to our volunteers! Your contributions made the event. Maryann Nevin, Chair, Gillian Boyd, Jo-Ann Burnett, Nancy Cronin, Rose Cuozzo, Fawn Fox, Tess Hetzel, Adel Mitrano, Nancy Rider, Ellen Sokoll, Sue Weber, Janet Wheeler, Kathryn Wolcott.

We are looking for a Chapter Championship Director for 2015. The Director will work with a committee to set up the event. The CC Director (along with the Events Director) will pick the venue for Chapter Championship and set the local conditions for competition. The director can play in the event! This is a great opportunity to give back to all the volunteers with the EWGA and to try your hand at a leadership position. If you are interested, please contact Kate Collins at golfevents@ewgaboston.org.

 NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Do you have some experience/knowledge of how the operations work in our EWGA Chapter? If yes, PLEASE think about signing up to be considered for the Nominating Committee, whose role is to search for 2015 Board Member candidates. We need 3 qualified individuals who are somewhat familiar with the role of the Board, the operations of the Chapter, and what it takes to run the Chapter to help determine the best type of leaders for our Chapter.

Role of the Nominating Committee:
1. Seek out and find the best-qualified candidates.
2. Properly evaluate each candidate.
3. Ensure they meet the qualifications.
4. Ensure candidates understand and agree to the expectations.

The Nominating Committee is the first step in the process of creating a cohesive Board of Directors team to lead our Boston Chapter in 2015.

Please consider this 3-month commitment. Many of your meetings can occur electronically.

Sign up on the web site or contact nongolfactivities@ewgaboston.org.
