Greetings Boston Chapter Members!

I hope everyone is staying warm after our first big snowstorm of the season! In this issue of the Newsletter you will meet your new Chapter Board, who is busy planning the events for our upcoming season. There are some exciting new events already planned for January, and the Board is looking for more volunteers and sponsors!

As we prepare for 2014, if there is something you'd like to see more or less of in the Chapter Newsletter, please let me know.

Happy Holidays!

Hello Ladies,

Greetings! As your new President I want to introduce you to your new Board.

Deidre Parlon is your Membership Recruitment Director. She will be responsible for member recruitment, member resources, and the New Member Event.
Gina Haigh is your Member Services Director. She will be responsible for special events such as Kickoff and non-golf events.
Kate Collins is your Events Director. She will be organizing the weekend and competitive events.
Thalia Holmes is your League Director. She will be responsible for all leagues, golf education and the League Championship.
As the President, I am here to be the point of contact with EWGA headquarters, to help each of the Directors whenever needed as well as being available to all of you with any questions or issues. My e-mail address is president@ewgaboston.org.

We have already begun to plan for the upcoming season. Each Director needs your help in order to roll out the ideas and goals for the 2014 season. If you would like to help, whether it be for an hour or help in the planning of an event, please send an e-mail to me at the e-mail address above or to your Member Services Director. Keep your eyes on the Chapter web site as details are available for events, leagues, and non-golf events. Our January calendar is already starting to fill up!

The entire Board wishes you a safe and happy Holiday season, and we look forward to seeing each of you in the near future.

Robin Duffy
President

Volunteers

There are many members who have stated they would love to volunteer but they do not have the time due to busy schedules. There are dozens of ways you could help your Chapter continue to grow and provide the events, leagues, etc., and the time requirement could be less than an hour.

Below are two examples:
  • Help plan events (if you love to set up parties, this could be a wonderful opportunity).
  • Keep the web site and/or Facebook up to date with current events.
There are many more ways to help. If you are interested, please write to Gina Haigh at chaptercommunications@ewgaboston.org. You never know where these opportunities might take you.

Local Sponsors

For the past several years, Joe and Leigh's has been our premiere sponsor and they have always provided excellent services, whether in the form of classes, equipment fitting or lessons. We are grateful and look forward to continuing our relationship with them.

We are looking for more local sponsors. If you know someone who you believe is interested in sponsoring our chapter, please let us know. Sponsors allow us to provide additional services, prizes, and larger events. Your help would truly enhance the member experience within the Boston Chapter.

National EWGA Sponsor

Did you know that GEICO is a national sponsor of the EWGA? The GEICO benefit for EWGA has the potential for real savings for members. PLUS, every time an EWGA member gets a quote, the EWGA receives a referral fee (no switch required)! Please contact GEICO in the next few weeks - before the end of the year - and get a quote to compare prices with your current provider. There is no obligation - but you do need to get the quote in order for the EWGA to receive the referral fee.
