In Memoriam: Juli Nichols

Juli Nichols played in the Tuesday Night Pine Meadows League in Lexington in 2012 and 2013. She passed away on Friday, July 12, after battling cancer. Everyone who played with her knew she was a remarkable woman who loved being out on the golf course. Even when she didn't feel well, she was just glad to be out swinging the golf club; even when it rained she had a cheery attitude.

At the next Tuesday night league play, the members of the league got together on the 9th hole of Pine Meadows to give Juli a "salute" of hitting over the water, or losing the ball in the water, in Juli's honor (see photo).

For Juli Nichols

A very nice write up was published on

Our Chapter will contribute to the First Tee in her memory.

The Power of One

Volunteers run this chapter and we need you. There are no paid positions. We are introducing the idea of The Power Of One. If every member would volunteer to do one task: make a phone call, sit at a registration desk, sell prize tickets, coordinate an event, serve on a committee, etc., we would make this chapter run so smoothly. Please reach out to our Leadership Chair, Dee Bouffard, to help in any way you can. Please contact Dee at

  Biggest Loser

Kate Collins, Handicap Chair

We  are more than half way through the challenge, we are setting up for a close finish as there is movement each revision.

Keep working on your game. There is still time, we have 3 more revisions until the finish.

Here is a link to the current standings:  Biggest Loser Standings.
Please remember you need to post all scores with EWGA GN21 or GHIN to maintain a handicap-even the "high ones."
To be eligible at the end of the contest, all Challengers:
  • Post at least five 18-hole scores during the contest period (two 9-hole scores = one 18-hole score).
  • At least TWO 18-hole scores must be from rounds played at either an EWGA event or EWGA league.
Here is a link to the complete rules: Contest Rules

Please contact me at if you have any questions or encounter any issues posting scores.
