Aidmatrix Continues to Respond to Superstorm Sandy
Aidmatrix continues to work with the relief community in NYC, NJ & NY to collect information about what is needed to help people whose homes were destroyed during Superstorm Sandy. From coordinating the first phase of food, medicine, shelter, to the next phase of clean-up, to the longest phase of rebuilding, Aidmatrix is in it for the long haul, standing side by side with the relief community as a technology provider and so much more as a relief provider. The National Donations Management Network (www.ndmn.us), powered by the Aidmatrix Network, is active and running in all of the impacted States to help in this effort.

The relief community continues to work to provide care and aid to all those impacted by Superstorm Sandy. Here are just a few examples of the work we are doing together:

Disaster Relief: To date, more than $3 million in in-kind offers have been made on the Aidmatrix Network for use by the relief community.

Hunger Relief: In New York, more than 7.5 million pounds of food has gone through the food bank system in the 5 weeks after Sandy, which is more than triple the amount compared to the same time frame last year. In New Jersey, 2.3 million pounds of food has moved through the food banks, which is 6x the amount moved during the same period in 2011.

Medical Relief: ISTAT's AirLink & JetBlue Airways provided flights for Sandy medical relief work, donating more than $80,000 worth of seats to a nonprofit called Team Rubicon, to help them move relief workers in and out of Superstorm Sandy affected areas to help with the recovery efforts. Partnered to launch the Sandy Doctors Recovery Project to replace damaged medical equipment, supplies and furniture across 30 clinics in the Southern Brooklyn communities.

Animal Welfare: We are working with the Animal Welfare community to identify their needs and match donations to provide support for their tireless relief efforts. Pet care, food, and medical supplies are moving through our systems to the relief area.

Long-Term Relief: Adventist Community Services managing several multi-agency relief warehouses that organize and distribute donations using Aidmatrix' SCM4Giving warehouse solutions

Fundraising: More than $67K in cash has been raised so far through Aidmatrix technology going directly to nonprofits working on Sandy relief efforts.

Aidmatrix also has had the opportunity to share 52 stories (and growing) with photos and videos from our partners that are working on the relief efforts. You can read their full stories and see photos, videos and more on our Local Impact Map at  www.aidmatrix.org.
