FareShare Case Study: Impacting Hunger Relief Across the United Kingdom

Currently there are more than 13 million people, 20% of the population, who live in poverty in the United Kingdom. FareShare, the United Kingdom's national food charity, has the mission to address food poverty using surplus food in this target population. FareShare has teamed with the Aidmatrix Foundation utilizing Aidmatrix' supply chain technology to better manage food surplus for redistribution across the UK. FareShare uses the technology to help get quality surplus food from the food industry to a network of more than 700 community organizations and charities that support those with food insecurity. "This move is part of our strategy to ensure we can deliver even more food to charities and community projects across the country," stated Danielle Woods, Network Support Manager (Business Development) for FareShare.

Aidmatrix and India FoodBanking Network Open Delhi FoodBank, First FoodBank in India

India has started its first foodbanking network to feed the poor in a country that is home to almost half the world's undernourished children. The India FoodBanking Network opened the first food bank this summer, the Delhi FoodBank, run by Aidmatrix, to help address the issues of hunger and malnutrition in India. "To stamp and make the initiative official, The Times of India in association with Aidmatrix Foundation India, on October 17, organised an event on the Delhi FoodBank, a non-profit enterprise which serves to feed the needy," wrote Aditi Sharma, from The Times of India, in their feature article.

Hunger Success in New Mexico, Aidmatrix Visits Partner RoadRunner Food Bank

From the beginning, one of Aidmatrix' core relief areas has involved hunger relief in partnership with Feeding America and its 200+ food bank partners. The universal characteristic of all food banks is the passion to feed hungry people within a geographic area. During their 30+ year history, Roadrunner Food Bank is the only Feeding America member in New Mexico, supplying food to four additional regional food banks and hundreds of partner agencies throughout the state. Feeding more than 40,000 hungry children, adults, and vulnerable seniors, Roadrunner is now using AgencyExpress™ 3.0 to improve upon their hunger-relief efforts. AgencyExpress is a hunger relief solution by Aidmatrix and associated with Feeding America that enables local agencies to view and order food from their food banks with an online shopping cart.
