Sorry if This Offends You...
| |
In this issues featured article, I run the risk of offending a few people. If you are offended, I apologize in advance. It's been a while since we published anything that could be perceived as controversial and this one may hit a hot button.
How our industry has positioned itself is a good topic and worth discussing. Why does our industry get no respect? In the article, No Single Raindrop Believes it is to Blame for the Flood, we address our shared guilt in how our industry is perceived. Your thoughts are welcomed and we would love to share them in a future FreePromoTips issue.
Along the lines of this topic, we have a great SuccessTracks Education Experience coming up on September 26th. Perhaps you can relate to the term, Entitlement Consumerism? With the click of a mouse, End Users have a plethora of information available at their fingertips. Buyer's come to us "knowing it all", (or at least thinking they do) wanting the best quality, fastest production and lowest price. This is where we are able to be a valuable resource.
We've presented some interesting information in the past, but I'm very excited about this session! We've put together two savvy suppliers and two savvy distributors who will lead this lively discussion. In this short video, I share my excitement. Frankly, I have no idea where this will go. More information and the link to register is below. Don't miss it!
Make it a great day!

Our industry has been much maligned. We may dislike it, but the proven effective branding strategies we offer have been devalued in many ways. We've embraced terms like swag and tchotchkes, because the terms are so commonly used. It may be argued this contributes to the image of our industry as trinkets and trash.

PPEF's Brown Bag and Give Green Fundraising Challenge provides industry companies with the opportunity to support college scholarships at the grassroots level. Your company can commit to a fundraising goal of $250, $500 or $1,000 depending on your size and then challenge your staff to forego lunches and snacks and instead donate that money to help fund scholarships for industry families.

A welcome kit with fun ideas and promotional products will be provided to help you make this a fun, company-wide event while helping to raise money and build awareness about the scholarships available to your employees and their children.
