Here's your latest edition of Indy Leaders' Lounge for Monday, May 12:

SmartManager Tip: A new hire bursts into tears, another slams his hands on a table in anger. Read how to deal with emotional employees- http://lnkd.in/dqNNuqA

Sales Huddle:  When I was CEO of a small technology firm, a sales person asked to meet with me. After the initial pleasantries, the first question he asked was "Tell me about your business.". I was having a bad day anyway, so I wrote the company's URL on a piece of paper, handed it to him, and told him, "Do some homework on our company first.", and escorted him out the door. I never heard from him again. Sales people, do a little research on your prospect before you reach out to them.

Word: "Do not settle for anything less than an extraordinary life."- anonymous. Well said.

Free For All: Last Sunday, I attended my daughter's soccer game. The temperature was 72 degrees. Next to my car was a lady in an SUV with the windows rolled down and the air conditioner on and SUV running for two solid hours. I thought two things. First, I thought "REALLY!?", and second, do my readers have a sustainability plan in place for their organization? If you don't, get one- you will save money and the environment at the same time.

LinkedIn Tip: In LinkedIn, each time you update your profile, you post the update on your status page and their feed. So, how do you make changes without notifying the world? You can update your profile "in stealth mode" by temporarily turning off your activity broadcast. To do this, go to Privacy & Settings, and turn off "Turn on/off activity broadcasts", make your changes, then turn it back on.

Bonus Tip! WorkWire, by Kelly Services, is a really nice app for the iPad with job trends, job search strategies and career management content. Download yours at the AppStore, or from Kelly's web site- http://www.kellyservices.com/WorkWire/

If you like this copy of the Lounge, forward it on to a peer! If you have content we can use, LinkedIn Tips, or words of motivation, please send me your submissions. Have a productive and encouraging week!
