New Gear Fails Inspection?
Every rigger loves new slings and gear, after all who doesn't love new stuff? But just because it's new, doesn't mean it is without issue.

Sure, we'd like to assume that new slings and hardware are perfect, but if you don't take the time to check it out how can you be sure? It's more than just making sure that the amount ordered equals the quantity shipped, there are a multitude of things that can go wrong before rigging gear is even used.

In this week's Hooked On Crane Tech post, we look at several real-life circumstances and why an initial rigging inspection program can make a big difference in the safety of your lifts.

We want to hear from you!

Does your employer have a periodic rigging inspection program, and is it followed?

What Our Students Say...

"Good learning experience even though I rig every day it brought some things to light. The instructor had a great teaching ability to keep the class on track."                                             - Qualified Rigger Level 1

This Train-the-Trainer course provides instruction to ensure operators are fully aware of the hazards associated with telescopic and vertical mast forklifts.  Our TTT programs offer a turn-key solution that allows trainers to bring their new-found knowledge and Crane tech's proprietary materials back to train others at their workplace.
Aerial Lift Operator training provides detailed instruction on one of the industry's most used lifting devices.. This course addresses both safe use and operator qualifications for boom supported, scissor, and articulating aerial lift types. Crane Tech Tip of the Week

Protect aerial lift controls from damaging work activities.

Some aerial lifts have a BBQ style lid to protect the controls from sandblasting and painting. If your aerial lift does not have the protective cover, use a tarp or other protective cover to protect the controls and keep the control markings legible.
