From Katie's Desk: One Year Later
One year ago, I started marketing to a new industry, thinking how hard could this be?
Well to say I have found a new perspective on the material handling industry is an understatement.

From the excitement of just seeing a crane when out and about to the respect for operators and the fuel of passion, many of my thought processes have been turned upside down.

Click here to read my candid thoughts on the industry and my first year at Crane Tech.

Crane Tech Tip of the Week

Before leaving a crane unattended, it is important to secure the crane for optimal safety.

We recommend that the operator:
  1. Land any attached load, bucket, lifting magnet, or other device.
  2. Disengage clutch (where applicable).
  3. Set travel, swing, boom brakes, and other locking devices.
  4. Put controls in the "off" position.
  5. Stop the engine.
  6. Secure crane against accidental travel.
  7. When wind alarm is given or on leaving crane overnight, rail clamps, where provided, shall be set on locomotive cranes and ground chocks set on truck cranes.
  8. Crane booms shall be lowered to ground level or otherwise fastened securely against displacement by wind loads or other forces.
  9. If leaving crane overnight, lock the cab doors.
What Our Clients Say...

"This is the second time I have been through a training session for the reach stacker, and the one that Crane Tech provided was much better than the first. The training plan was well thought out and logical. I also thought the way the weight capacities were illustrated and explained were very good. I, along with a few others had some experience running the machine - but there was also some new operators in the class who had not run before.  I learned some new items and the newer operators certainly benefited.

Your instructor was very knowledgeable, he had a very good rapport with the operators in the class.  My opinion, operators make the best trainers."
