When rigging use only approved engineered lift points.
In the case of this "what NOT to do" example that was discovered in a chemical plant, there are items to consider, such as:
  • What is the capacity of this pipe? 
  • How hot/cold does it get? 
  • Are there toxic substances inside?
Just be safe! It's better to go with the known instead of the unknown.
