Crane Tech fully endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), and will prepare candidates for the CCO tests.
This program is compliance based in accordance with OSHA, MMS, ASME and API regulations and how to research these regulations. Students attending this program learn hands-on how to inspect and document all the deficiencies found on a variety of rigging gear such as:
wire rope slings
chain slings
synthetic web slings
synthetic round slings
shackles
eye bolts
swivel hoist rings
hooks
come-a-longs
plate and beam clamps
spreader bars
plus a variety of specialty lifting items
This training program includes a wide variety of slings and rigging components with varying degrees of deficiencies. This technical training combined with extensive hands-on instruction ensures you have the knowledge and skills required to perform comprehensive rigging equipment inspections.

Federal OSHA �1926 construction standard requires all riggers to be qualified. Crane Tech's Qualified Rigger Level 1 program provides training necessary to meet the regulations as a basic level rigger. Program also satisfies API requirements.

The proper identification and use of various rigging hardware and hooks.
The proper identification and use of below-the-hook lifting devices.
Federal OSHA �1926 Subpart CC requires all persons providing crane signals meet qualification requirements in accordance with the standard. Crane Tech's Qualified Signal Person program provides the training and testing required by the regulation.
All students will:
Know and understand when signals are required.
Know and understand the type of signals used.
Know and understand the proper method for signal communication by hand and by voice.
Be competent in the application of the type of signals used.
Have a basic understanding of equipment operation and limitations, including the crane dynamics.
Demonstrate the requirements to give signals through an oral or written test and through a practical test.
Federal OSHA �1926 Subpart CC requires all riggers to be qualified. Our Qualified Rigger Level 2 program provides the training necessary for an employer to designate a person as qualified to work as a Level 2 rigger. Level 2 riggers are trained to perform rigging calculations, determine the correct slings and rigging gear for safe load handling and to direct a level 1 rigger.
All students will know and understand:
The proper application of slings, rigging hardware, and below the hook lifting devices.
The calculation of sling angle stress/tension.
The calculation of load weight.
How to find the center of gravity of a load.
The identification and explanation of load balance.
The proper identification, selection and use of various sling types.
The proper identification, selection and use of various rigging hardware and hooks.
The proper identification, selection and use of below-the-hook lifting devices.
Working load limits (WLL) for all slings and rigging gear.
The proper use of taglines.

In support of our clients, only applicants with major experience in the material handling field will be considered. Applicants must be prepared for a rigorous multi-day interview process (at Crane Tech's expense) where you will demonstrate knowledge and skill at our training centers. The ability to articulate training topics and the willingness to provide programs in a manner that's proven successful are critical to success with our company. Instructors will travel extensively throughout the continental US and there is no relocation required. Crane Tech only employs full time staff and will not consider contract trainers. All travel expenses incurred in the performance of Crane Tech functions are paid and trainers are issued a company credit card for these purposes. Applicants must have mobile crane NCCCO certification.
