"For Operators and Trainers"  

 

Mobile Crane Operator Training is designed for operators, trainers, safety personnel and supervisors for all types of Mobile Cranes.  Training thoroughly covers cranes regulated by OSHA, MSHA and ASME B30.5.  You will learn critical elements that

include: operational characteristics, load charts, proper set-up, use of jibs and extensions, load indicating devices, crane stability, structural competence, pre-use inspections, hazard awareness, power line hazards, operator responsibilities, job planning and all with extensive workshop interaction.

This program is an excellent way to prepare operators before they attend the NCCCO Certified Mobile Crane Operator program.  Take it one step further and attend the 15 day Mobile Crane Operator Professional Development program.

Federal OSHA §1926 construction standard requires all riggers to be qualified.  Crane Tech's Qualified Rigger Level 1 program provides training necessary to meet the regulations as a basic level rigger. Program also satisfies API requirements.   

 

All students will know and understand:

 

  • The proper identification and use of various sling types
  • The proper identification and use of various rigging hardware and hooks.
  • The proper identification and use of below-the-hook lifting devices.
  • Pre-use inspection and removal criteria
  • The effects of sling angle tensions
  • The various sling hitches and how to apply them
  • Load balance and center of gravity.

Certified Mobile Crane Operator NCCCO

 
Crane Tech has provided NCCCO Certified programs for 14 years. Our programs place primary emphasis on the four knowledge domains specified under NCCCO guidelines.

Candidates learn what's required for safe crane operation then practice for testing with test of the same content and structure as provided for certification.

Qualified Signal Person

"For Signalers and Trainers"

 
Federal OSHA §1926 Subpart CC requires all persons providing crane signals meet qualification requirements in accordance with the standard. Crane Tech's Qualified Signal Person program provides the training and testing required by the regulation.

 

All students will:

  • Know and understand when signals are required.
  • Know and understand the type of signals used.
  • Know and understand the proper method for signal communication by hand and by voice.
  • Be competent in the application of the type of signals used.
  • Have a basic understanding of equipment operation and limitations, including the crane dynamics.
  • Demonstrate the requirements to give signals through an oral or written test and through a practical test.

Qualified Rigger Level 2

"For Riggers and Trainers" 

 

Federal OSHA §1926 Subpart CC requires all riggers to be qualified.  Our Qualified Rigger Level 2 program provides the training necessary for an employer to designate a person as qualified to work as a Level 2 rigger.  Level 2 riggers are trained to perform rigging calculations, determine the correct slings and rigging gear for safe load handling and to direct a level 1 rigger.

 

All students will know and understand:

  • The proper application of slings, rigging hardware, and below the hook lifting devices.
  • The calculation of sling angle stress/tension.
  • The calculation of load weight.
  • How to find the center of gravity of a load.
  • The identification and explanation of load balance.
  • The proper identification, selection and use of various sling types.
  • The proper identification, selection and use of various rigging hardware and hooks.
  • The proper identification, selection and use of below-the-hook lifting devices.
  • Working load limits (WLL) for all slings and rigging gear.
  • The proper use of taglines.
