Sugar Shocker - Hypoglycemia
Dear Friends,
Hypoglycemia. "Hypo" means low, "glyc" means sugar; "emia" means blood.
Thus we have this fancy term that has been controversial for at least 40 years. It is a major scourge of civilized people who consume the Western diet of upwards of 125 pounds of table sugar per year! Add to this the additional malnourishing foods that rob our bodies of nutrients that are necessary for healthy well-being, and it is no wonder that people develop health issues.
In my opinion hypoglycemia is a form of civilized malnutrition. It often leads to obesity, and while overweight people may not fit our idea of appearing malnourished, they most certainly are .
These unfortunates overload their bodies with calories (energy) that sorely lack the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and other metabolic necessities which are essential to utilizing them for good health. Eating deficient food can lead to unpleasant and even debilitating hunger, tremors, brain fog, and anger, as well as many other symptoms.
One may wonder how HIGH sugar consumption leads to LOW blood sugar. This is "sugar rebound". Eating sugar causes a sudden sugar peak that lacks the nutrients to sustain the peak. This results in a "sugar trough" which gives rise to inappropriate cravings for sugar, becoming a vicious cycle.
