CBA Student to Present at COMS Conference 
Adrian Rodriquez continues his quest to walk on water

The judges in the 2014 Innovation Competition Committee selected CBA junior, Adrian Rodriguez, an accounting major from Friendswood, for Phase II of final judging in a competition that encompassed various Coastal Bend economic development entities in November of 2014. It was coordinated by the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Rodriguez's entry was a video outlining his concept "Winged Water Walking (Jesus Shoes)". He is still trying to perfect his idea to create a device (shoes) that would allow the user to stay afloat/stroll/walk on water. Read more about this article.

 



Online MBA Ranked by U.S. News & World Report

The online master's of business administration (MBA) at Texas A&M University-Kingsville is one of only seven Texas programs ranked in U.S. News & World Report's list of Top 100 online MBA programs.

The College of Business Administration began offering the MBA program entirely online in spring 2012. Other Texas schools ranked in the Top 100 include University of Texas- Dallas, North Texas University, West Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, Baylor, University of Houston Clear Lake and Texas Southern University.  Read more about this article. 
 



Center for Negotiation is Formed within the CBA

AACSB International is the premier accrediting body for collegiate business and accounting programs. Its magazine, BizEd, recently featured an article stating the importance of questioning as a business skill. The College of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville echoes that sentiment, with the launch of its new Center for Negotiation.  
 
The center will not only help educate its undergraduate and graduate students, but anyone who wants to be better at negotiating. Read more about this article.

CBA Lecturer Harmeet Singh
Redesign of Economics Class Is Recognized   
Lecturer Harmeet Singh chosen for I-CARE Grant

The Title V I-CARE grant staff and the I-CARE faculty course redesign review committee chose five classes redesigned by the faculty member teaching that class. Harmeet Singh, lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance, was chosen for his redesign of ECON 2301.

Singh was chosen out of 26 applications, along with four other faculty members from other colleges. The quality of applications was excellent and the faculty review committee utilized a two-tiered review process to select the winners. These faculty members were selected as awardees to conduct a classroom-based undergraduate research component in their courses this fall. Read more about this article.
