Two Distinguished Students Hail from CBA
Congratulations to François Brou and Brittney Soliz!

Six graduates at Texas A&M University-Kingsville's winter commencement ceremony received the Distinguished Undergraduate Student Award, sponsored by the Student Government Association. Only one bachelor's degree student from each college receives the award.

To be nominated, a student must be a graduating senior with no less than 60 credit hours earned at Texas A&M-Kingsville. The student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and must be involved in extracurricular activities. The student also must have the endorsement of the dean of the college from which he/she receives a degree. Read more about this article.



Faculty/Student Collaboration Success
Eleni Anastosova Publishes with Assoc. Professor Verma

Business students can gain functional knowledge and practice communication and teamwork skills by working with a faculty member on an academic research project. Eleni Anastosova, a finance major from Vama Veche, Bulgaria, collaborated with CBA Associate Professor Dr. Priti Verma. Their paper, "Stock Market Integration and Linkages - Evidence from Turkey," has been accepted to be presented at the annual Conference of Academy of Economics and Finance in Pensacola Beach on February 10-13, 2016. Anastosova's other academic achievements include Dean's List and President's List. She is also on the Javelina tennis team. She aspires to earn a degree in law after receiving her bachelor's degree from A&M-Kingsville.


2014-2015 Year In Review
for the College of Business Administration

A few college highlights of major milestones, new initiatives, and accomplishments of students and faculty:
  • Double-digit increase in student enrollment. The College of Business of Administration had 569 students enrolled for the fall semester, a 10 percent increase over last year.
  • Student internship numbers climb. Students who participated in internships doubled in 2014-2015 compared to the previous academic year (44 vs. 22).
  • Accounting students recognized as an Outstanding Students' VITA Chapter by the United Way in 2015. CBA accounting students helped to prepare 80 income tax returns resulting in $87,970 refunds for clients.
  • College faculty publications hit new highs with 50 published refereed articles and presented their empirical work at 49 international, national, and regional conferences in 2014-2015.
  • College of Business Administration launched a semi-annual Small Business Conference. The free conference offers concurrent sessions on business topics relevant to the public.
  • The CBA also improved its student retention rate to 73.7 percent in 2015.
  • In 2014-2015 academic year, 73 percent graduates received a job offer prior to graduation with 59 percent accepting before graduation.
