CBA Student's Paper Accepted for Publication
Brou's paper presented at International Academic Conference

François Brou, a graduating Senior majoring in Finance from the Ivory Coast, led a research project investigating the consistency of financial ratios across nations and continents. The financial ratios chosen were those used to estimate a company's Altman's Z value, which is an indication of the likelihood of a company going into bankruptcy. Financial ratios included in the model are total asset turnover, net working capital, retained earnings, operating income and price/book value. Read more about this article.

Six Honored as Distinguished Alumni
during Javelina Homecoming Celebration

From a president of a community college to a scout for a Super Bowl-winning team, the 2015 Class of Distinguished Javelina Alumni is comprised of leaders in their fields and communities.
           
Six alumni were honored during the Distinguished Alumni Awards sponsored by IBC Bank Friday, October 23. The banquet was part of the Javelina Homecoming Celebration. Read more about this article.


 
CBA Welcomes Carlos Alvarado
to the Advising Team

We welcome Carlos Alvarado to the CBA team as Academic Advisor I with the Center for Student Success. Carlos is from Kingsville and comes to us with a BAS in Communications from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Alvarado has extensive experience with the university, having been a staff member since 2006.

As a student he was a member of American Advertisement Federation, National Broadcasting Society, Toastmasters club and the Javelina Press club. In his senior year he was president of the Radio Television Club, vice-president of the French Club, and front page editor of The South Texan. His experience as an enrollment service specialist at the Javelina Enrollment Services Center will serve our students well.

Annual Economic Forum for Kleberg County

The annual Economic Forum at Texas A&M University-Kingsville brought over 100 community leaders and city and county officials together Tuesday afternoon for a comparison of economic conditions in Kleberg and two other counties.

The forum featured presentations by Thomas Krueger, professor of innovation in Business Administration, and Judy Hawley, the commissioner and chair of the Port of Corpus Christi. Read more about this article.
