Alumni Spotlight: Lydia Lau Is Vice President on a Global Stage for the Hoffman Agency in China
Lydia Lau, Vice President Global Operations
Lydia carries strong global experience and 16 years of operation and consulting experience in the PR industry. Working for The Hoffman Agency based in Hong Kong, Lydia interacts daily with the global team in Asia, Europe and The United States regarding regional and global infrastructures to support the company's consultants within a flawless operations environment. Lydia oversees finance, IT, administration and HR, and also works closely with the CEO to provide advice and consultation to the client-servicing teams, local general managers and regional managing directors on budget and account management and operations issues. Krueger Wins Teaching Excellence Award
Dr. Thomas Krueger, finance professor in the College of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, recently was awarded the 2015 Teaching Excellence Award at the Academy of Finance meeting. Krueger also is the J.R. Manning Endowed Professor of Innovation in Business Education.

 

The Academy of Finance is affiliated with MBAA-International, which had multiple divisions in business areas.

 

This is the first time Krueger has won this award, although he placed second in 2010. Members can be nominated or self-nominated for the Teaching Excellence Award. Five candidates are chosen to be presenters and then a committee picks the winner after the presentations. Read more about this article.   

 

Dr. John Cicala Attends PRME Meeting at the United Nation General Assembly

Dr. John Cicala represented Texas A&M University-Kingsville at the 2015 Global Forum for Responsible Management Education, June 23 - 25, in New York. It was the sixth PRME assembly, since its creation by the United Nations, to create a relationship between the UN's Global Compact and business schools from around the world. Each of the more than 500 signatory business schools and management-related academic institutions from over 80 countries across the world have agreed, in writing, to follow and incorporate six principles of responsible management education developed by an international task force of 60 deans, university presidents and representatives of leading business schools and academic institutions: Purpose, Values, Method, Research, Partnership and Dialogue. Recent Faculty Accomplishments

Dr. John Cicala co-authored an article titled "The Sales Profession as a Subculture: Implications for Ethical Decision Making" which was accepted for publication in Journal of Business Ethics, an "A" rated journal according to the Australian Business Dean's Council.

Rusty Karst co-authored an article accepted in International Business Review titled, "Emerging Market MNE Cross-border Acquisition Equity Participation: The role of Economic and Knowledge Distance."

Rusty Karst and Dr. John Cicala recently completed the new "Certification of Professional Development in Distance Education".

Dr. Valerie Bartelt co-authored an article titled "Consumer Acceptance of Personal Cloud: Integrating Trust and Risk with the Technology Acceptance Model." It will be published in AIS Transactions on Replication Research.

Dr. Martha Sale, Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance, co-authored an article accepted in Cost Management titled "Supplier Selection in the Presence of Component Commonality and Diverse End Item Markets." 

Dr. Martha Sale's title, International Journal of E-Business Research, will be showcased by IGI Global at the Academy of Management 2015 Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada August 7th-11th.

Dr. Ruth Chatelain-Jardon co-authored an article, "The Relationship between Individual Spirituality, Organizational Commitment and Individual Innovative Behavior," which has been accepted in Management Research and Practice Journal.
Marija Dimitrovska Makes Her Honors Student Presentation

 Marija Dimitrovska presented her Honors College Senior Research Project on Monday, June 22 on student athlete recruitment using social media.
