More than 700 Information Technology college and university students, faculty members, sponsors, speakers, exhibitors, and IT professionals from all over the country attended the 20th Annual A.I.T.P. National Collegiate Conference and Career Fair in Omaha, Nebraska from March 26 - 29 this year.  Among them were CBA seniors Juanita Hopkins and Samantha Hroch, representing the newly-formed chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (A.I.T.P.). The conference included competitions, exhibits, break-out sessions and entertaining events.  The conference is geared toward enhancing  professional development and providing networking opportunities.  Strategies were set forth to enter competitions next year by our A.I.T.P. chapter.  Hopkins concluded, "The doors that a convention of this magnitude can open is amazing.  The contests are designed to show the potential that our student chapter is capable of.  This was an excellent scouting opportunity that I am glad we were privileged to take."  We sincerely thank Bay, Ltd. for sponsoring our students to attend this conference!

On March 26, Dr. Thomas Krueger, J.R. Manning Endowed Professor of Innovation in Business Education, was awarded the 2015 Teaching Excellence Award at the 2015 Academy of Finance meeting. This is the first win for Krueger, who came in second in 2010.  Out of a membership of approximately 160, there were 117 participants at this year's meeting of the Academy of Finance, an affiliation of MBAA-International. Five candidates of the award are chosen to be presenters at the first session on the first morning of the conference. Then a committee of the program chair, recent award winner and another individual who is not a member of the Academy of Finance, make a selection. With the past five years mostly spent at the Texas A&M-Kingsville College of Business Administration, Krueger was able to populate his presentation with a lot of interesting information about what he does in and outside the classroom.
