Finance Students Participate in Virtual Stock Trade Simulation

Dr. Dongnyoung Kim's Personal Finance class competed in a Stock Trak Simulation exercise this fall semester. Students received $1,000,000 in a virtual brokerage account and, for the duration of their class, simulated managing a portfolio of stocks, options, futures, bonds, mutual funds, currencies and other securities from over 20 global exchanges. Students were able to gain first-hand, real world knowledge of how the markets work, how to place orders, practice theories and strategies learned in class, and compete with their classmates. College of Business Administration to Offer ExamMatrix Software in the Near Future

Current accounting students and alumni of the CBA will soon have access to ExamMatrix Online Review Course, an adaptive-Learning software that's driving the future of exam review and test preparation with high exam passing rates. This powerful software utilizes proprietary adaptive-learning technology that defines individual needs and tailors CPA study sessions to optimize study time.

It continually evaluates readiness on each section by carefully comparing the types and formats of questions successfully answered against those questions within the exam's content and specification outline.  From their scores on the progress report, which is built into the software, students will know when they are ready to take and pass that section, so there's no guesswork involved. It offers the capability of allowing an instructor to assign problems and simulations from the software that are tailored for the content of a particular class. The CBA is committed to student and alumni professional success by offering enhanced programs such as the CPA ExamMatrix Online Review Course.

Texas A&M-Kingsville's Faculty Promote Health Care Network, Thanks to Grant

KINGSVILLE (May 7, 2014) - You are feeling sick but it is Saturday evening and your primary physician's office is closed, so it is off to the emergency room or clinic you go. Filling out the paperwork is hard. You are too sick to remember what different kinds of medications you take and at what dosage. That kind of information is necessary for a doctor unfamiliar with your medical background.

Thanks to the Health Information Network of South Texas (HINSTX), it should be possible soon for a patient to go into a South Texas emergency center or even a doctor other than their primary physician and have medical personnel gain easy access to medical records. Read more from article.
